‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part II’ an incredible end to saga

The end is here and it is awesome.  Look, being this is the last Harry Potter flick, I think its totally unfair to keep any lingering book vs. movie problems get in the way of enjoying the eighth and final movie.  Please, if you can, separate them.  Yes, the books are great and in many, many respects far superior to the movies but come on– Warner Bros., Christopher Columbus, David Heyman, David Yates and the countless others that worked to bring The Boy Who Lived to big screen life should be commended.

What has been done here is almost unprecedented.  Seven books translated into eight movies in a period of eleven years.  What is more impressive is that not only did it manage to maintain the main cast for that long– the only major loss was Richard Harris, who passed away after filming Chamber of Secrets– but some of these kids really became good actors along the way.

If you have read the books, see this movie.  If you enjoy Harry Potter in general, you should see this movie.  If you’ve seen any of them, heard of them or just vaguely know the world of Harry Potter, the boy wizard exists, you should see this movie.  It picks up right where Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part I left off.  Voldemort has the wand.  Harry, Ron and Hermoine are trying to find the rest of the horcruxes and the Death Eaters have taken over the ministry.

The final Harry Potter movies brings a close to the J.K. Rowling book series that spands seven books and eight movies.

That’s about all you need to know going in.  This movie brings it.  From start to finish.  The action is nearly non-stop and there are some truly great moments of acting, which nostalgically is fun to watch because you can see how far Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have come in the past 11 years. Who would have thought that these three kids would mature the way they did. Warner Bros. truly struck gold with each of them. There is no way they could have known ten plus years ago, they’d have these same actors around for the end, much less how much they’d grow as actors in the mean time.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is one of the greatest series ending movies…ever. It’s a movie that will stand the test of time as being a hit with both fans of the books and those that were only around for the movies.
