Horrible Bosses (2011) — Movie Review

Is it just me or is Jason Bateman in every other movie these days?  I’m pretty sure I saw him in the Battle of Hogwarts…anyway– he’s in Horrible Bosses, which is not a horrible movie.  I also think this is the first movie I’ve seen in theatres that had Kansas City native Jason Sudeikis in it.

As for the movie….

This movie is what it is.  If you’ve seen the trailers, you can probably figure out how it goes.  Three friends get together and bitch about how much they hate their respective bosses.  One is a bullying, sociopath (Kevin Spacey); another is a sexual predator (Jennifer Aniston); while the other is a coke-head a**hole (Colin Farrell).  Let’s be honest.  Nobody likes their boss.  Don’t lie and say you do.

Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudekis find murder isn't as easy as it sounds.

These guys however, take it to the next level and decide to kill their bosses…or each other’s bosses– with mixed result.  The movie is funny because it has a lot of funny people in it, but other than that it isn’t anything special.  Bateman is his usual smart ass.  Sudeikis is a charming schmuck-type.  I can guarantee you’ve never seen Jennifer Aniston in a role like this.  Jamie Foxx has a funny cameo with an even better name.

Plus it has Julie Bowen (Happy Gilmore, LOST)…so bonus points.
