With actor Patrick Barnitt at the 2012 Con X KC.
My name is Timothy English. I am a free lance writer, a screen writer, a poet and a prisoner of the state of Kansas. I am a movie critic and writer for Examiner.com. I write reviews, news and some commentaries on what is happening in the world of entertainment.
I am a native of Kansas City, although my life plan has taken me as far as Topeka. Pretty exciting. I graduated from Topeka West High School in 1994 and have since lived in Lawrence and Eudora before returning to KC in 2002.

In 2002, I wrote, directed and starred in a short film called “Run!”. It was a sci-fi noir flick about aliens. Around the same time, I also produced another independent feature film, “Grassfire”.
I studied education and social work at Johnson County Community College. I have worked as a teacher, running an early childhood education center in Overland Park, KS. for a few years.
In 2011, I resumed my education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where I am finishing my bachelor’s in Communication Studies Film and Media. I am a co-founder of PoPFilmKC (Paris of the Plains Group of Kansas City), which was formed in 2012. I currently serve as Public Relations Director for the group.
