‘Fast and Furious 6’ is ridiculous and fun — but still pretty ridiculous

fast6cThere is no doubt that the “Fast and Furious” franchise has moved into some pretty ridiculous territory. What’s even more amazing is that the movies actually seem to be getting better as they go along.

“Furious 6” isn’t quite as good of an all-around movie as it’s predecessor, “Fast Five” but it amps up the crazy stunts and action and never takes itself more seriously than it needs to.

‘Fast & Furious 6’ helps set some big Memorial Day weekend box office records

Plus, this one has a post-movie scene that is so awesome — and I’m really not sure why it’s as awesome as it is — but it sets up the next movie perfectly. Die hard Trek fans may not agree but ‘Star Trek into Darkness’ is an awesome sequel

KhanI’m not going to lie. I’m not a “Star Trek” loyalist. Loved the show when I was little, but I’ve always sided on the “Star Wars” side of that debate. So I went into “Star Trek into Darkness” having loved J.J. Abrams first adventure mostly because it was a departure from the yawn inducing movies that were the previous films. I’m happy to say that I loved this movie — for the most part. Sure, there are some dull moments and some that don’t quite work dramatically, but it is a hell of a sequel.

Yes, Benedict Cumberbatch is awesome as….well, you’ll have to see the movie to find out who he plays.
