The idea that the brilliant minds at Pixar Animation Studios would try and take on the classic Disney fairy tale theme and add a new member to the beloved Disney Princess family is genius. It almost sounds too good to be true, right? After all, “The Incredibles”, “Wall-E”, “A Bug’s Life” and the “Toy Story” trilogy are some of the most original and inspiring animated movies maybe ever. I’m conflicted on this one. On one hand, I think it’s a fun movie with some great action but on the other, I think it’s a good example of how NOT to adapt a book to film. Granted, the book may not carry the type of narrative that most film audiences are accustomed to but the problem with the movie was that it cut back on some of what made the book so great. That being said, this will be a review of the movie, “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” and not a critique of the quality of the adaptation.
