The new ‘Evil Dead’ a reminder that scary movies should be scary and gross

evildeadpicSam Raimi’s 1981 horror flick, “The Evil Dead”, is a wildly entertaining cult classic that has slowly crept into the mainstream radar. It was only a matter of time before it got the remake treatment. This is both an exciting and scary proposal for fans of the original series, which spawned two sequels. Despite being unable to avoid some stereotypical pit falls of the genre, remake writer and director delivers an “Evil Dead” that is head and shoulders better than any horror movie in recent years.

The Rock can’t over compensate for stupid ‘G.I. Joe Retaliation’ script

Joe: Retaliation” should have been released last July but apparently some early test audiences weren’t too thrilled with the lack of screen time for the hero of the first film, Channing Tatum. So Paramount delayed the release, deciding to give the film a 3D conversion and flesh out some more scenes between Tatum and the film’s new star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
