‘The A-Team’ (2010) — movie review

Who’s in it?: Liam Neeson (Taken, Krull) as Colonel Hannibal Smith; Bradley Cooper (The Hangover, TV’s Alias) as Lt. Faceman Peck; Quinton Jackson (?) as Bosco B.A. Baracas; Sharlto Copley (District 9) as Captain H.M. Murdock; also starring Jessica Biel (Blade:Trinity) and Patrick Wilson (Watchmen, Lakeview Terrace [review coming])

“I love it when a plan comes together.”, is a famous line from The A-Team.  I loved this shit when I was 10.  Mr. T was cool as hell back then and you know it.  The line of dialogue also applies to this movie finally getting made.  It took forever and it almost didn’t happen but let’s face it, all of these God damned TV remakes are for the most part, absolute rubbish.  But come one, this just made sense to make; and putting Liam Neeson it it was a stroke of genius because he was a total bad ass in Taken.

But I will say this, I’m not sure if i liked this because of how good it was or just because it was better more than most of the shite that came out this summer.  There were some shitty movies and I’m not sure this in in my top 5 for the summer.  I think this one seemed good because everything else was so bad.  But I was entertained when I watched it, even though I don’t think it will be much of a memorable movie. It had some good action sequences and the actors were great for the characters they had to portray.

Does that mean it was bad or just forgettable?….or does it have something to do with the fact that I watched 88 fucking movies after I saw this God damn thing.

7/10

Would I recommend this movie?: Yeah, sure.  Look, it is what it is.  A decent, entertaining remake of an 80’s TV show that you will like if you liked the show and be able to follow even if you have never heard of The A-Team before Bradley fucking Cooper and Qui Gon Jinn.

Who’s in it?: Bill Hader, Andy Samberg and Will Forte (all from SNL), Anna Ferris (Scary Movie) and Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser, M.D.) and Mr. T (enough said)

Based on the children’s book by Ron and Judi Barrett

The following blog has been rated G because after all, it is a kids movie we are talking about here…

I really don’t know what to say about this one.  I mean it’s friggin’ Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.  The truth is, after some of the crap I’ve seen at this point, a children’s flick was in order- and this one pays off.  but like I said, it is what it is.  An animated kids movie based on a book about food that magically falls from the sky.
